Pumpkin Panic Smoothies

This is a perfect 5-minute after trick-or-treating dessert (fill them up with pumpkin-y goodness before they start working on the goody-bag stuff!) or festive, energy-boosting breakfast the day after.  Frozen bananas add subtle sweetness and a frothy chill.  Serve with some French toast or whole grain freezer waffles.

This recipe is the last in a series of 3 quick and easy Halloween treat ideas I found online and altered to make them healthier.  If you missed the others or would like to receive a FREE printable recipe card version including all three recipes, please sign up here.

Yield|  4 smoothies

4 small bananas, sliced and frozen
1 15-oz. can pumpkin (plain pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling)
1 c. plain nonfat yogurt
1 c. low-fat milk or almond milk
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Sprinkle ground nutmeg
1.  Combine bananas, pumpkin, yogurt, milk, and cinnamon in blender.
2.  Process until smooth.  Divide evenly between 4 glasses.  Sprinkle tops of each smoothie with ground nutmeg.  Enjoy!

8 MONTHS TO 2 YEARS  Substitute whole milk yogurt OR just stir some whole milk yogurt into baby’s serving.
